Cornwall came in top in the recent British Travel Awards, taking the main prize of ‘best holiday county’ and furthering its reputation as a great all-round visitor destination.

If you’ve enjoyed a stay in one of the many Cornwall cottages recently, it’ll come as no surprise that the region swept up a wide range of top awards at the annual British Travel Award ceremony, including best county, attraction, town and website. The winners in the region were the Eden project, winning best attraction; St Ives, winning best town; and Visit Cornwall, winning best website.

Malcolm Bell, the head of VisitCornwall, commented no the regions success, saying that it proved that Cornwall really was the best destination in the country, due to its unwavering quality and unique diversity throughout the tourist industry.

The wins are great news for the county as a whole too, highlighting the very best it has to offer and attracting more visitors all year round.
